Please note: as some of you know, Curriculum Night has been moved from 8/27/25 to 9/11/25. The calendar of events in the newsletter still showed the original date, but it has now been updated.

Dear Class of 2027 Parents!

This is an exciting week for our Juniors! You may have seen Counselor Boykin’s Remind update about the Junior Class Meeting and College Fair (see details below).

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to one of our Juniors, check out her awesome accomplishments as you read along!

A big thank-you goes to parents Nina Sprinkle and Emery Bourne for planning our very first Class of ’27 student and parent PTSA social. More details will be shared soon! If you’re interested in helping with the planning, please email nahsclass2027@gmail.com. The goal is to host the event this fall before Fall Break.

Dear Juniors, 


Two events this week!

1. Junior Class Meeting  - Tuesday, August 19th during 1st period in the Theatre. The purpose of this meeting is to set a positive tone for the school year by introducing the administrative team and reviewing school-wide expectations with students. 

2. NAHS College and Career Fair - Friday, August 22nd during 1st period. You are to report to your 1st period, so attendance can be taken, and then you will be released to attend the college fair. Remember to "Dress for Success." College Fair List, HERE.

Upcoming Fall 2025 Events & Milestones for Juniors:

August 22nd:  NAHS College Fair (all juniors will attend and are encouraged to "Dress for Success")

(DATE MOVED to SEPTEMBER) August 27th: Curriculum Night

August 29th: Last date for NAHS students with a disability to apply for accommodations via the College Board.

August-October:  PSAT Prep, Transcript review and GPA Check

September 1st:  Labor Day (School Holiday)

September 11th: Curriculum Night

September 22nd - 30th: Junior Fall Classroom Guidance, Time/Stress Management, Academic and HOPE GPA Check and Testing

October 13-17: Fall Break (Student Holiday)

October 21st:  PSAT/NMSQT Test Day (all juniors participating in off-campus programs like DE, ACCA, and AVA Full-time are expected to test).

October 22nd - February 27th:  Junior Advisement

November 5th:  ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) Test Day

January (TBD):  PSAT Interpretation Night

February (TBD): Junior College Day (Saturday, 9:00 AM - 12 Noon for Parents and Students)

March (TBD):  

March-April:  Junior Spring Classroom Guidance - Building a Balanced College List: “Match and Fit,” College/Career Portfolio, and Exploring Post-secondary Options

April 2nd:  SAT School Day for Juniors

CLASS of 2027 SPOTLIGHT
Congratulations to Ryan Rogers-Givens!

Ryan has been selected as the lead choreographer for Sutton Middle School’s production of The Little Mermaid. This summer, she trained with the esteemed Alvin Ailey Dance Company.  

We’re thrilled to see her sharing her talents and giving back to our community! The Little Mermaid will hit the stage in early November. Dates are yet to be announced.

Is Your Student Short Volunteer Hours?

We have a variety of student opportunities to volunteer. From translation, event support, staff support, etc. We are registered directly with tiersphere making the process to receive hours seamless.
